OUR STORY
Once upon a time, in a home where every meal was incomplete without Nani’s tangy achar and Mom’s heartwarming recipes, a foodie dream was born. From watching jars of pickles sunning on terraces to savouring the aroma of hand-roasted spices wafting through the air, I grew up surrounded by flavours steeped in love and tradition.
During the pandemic, as the world slowed down and I worked from home like everyone else, I reflected on the artistry of Indian women - our Nani’s and mothers - who spent days creating these boxes of joy and happiness. Their hard work, passed down through generations, deserved recognition far beyond the confines of family kitchens.
That’s when Nani Ka Pitara came to life - a heartfelt mission to revive the magic of Indian culinary traditions and to empower women by providing them a platform to showcase their incredible talent. Today, every jar from Nani Ka Pitara carries not just a burst of flavour but also a promise to support women in earning a livelihood and preserving our culinary heritage.
MEET THE FOUNDER
In 2020, as the world came to a standstill, Mehak Bansal and her mother brought Nani Ka Pitara to life - a heartfelt tribute to generations of Indian women and their culinary wisdom. An architect by profession and a foodie at heart, Mehak dreamt of crafting something timeless for the taste buds - flavours that transport you straight to Nani ke hath ka khana.
Determined to preserve this legacy and empower women who have nurtured it for decades, she began with just 5 kg of achar a year. Today, that humble effort has blossomed into over 500 kg annually, as families across India embrace the irresistible taste of Nani Ka Pitara.
